This view of London features the iconic Tower Bridge in the foreground and London's tallest building, The Shard, in the background. Built at the end of the nineteenth century, Tower Bridge is a 'bascule' bridge meaning 'see-saw'. The road bridge lifts in order to let large vessels through so as not to disrupt river traffic.
I work from sketches that I have made, refining them by focussing on patterns in the landscape. I use a fine line pen to finish my drawings. My sketchbook accompanies me on my travels and I enjoy capturing the architecture and surroundings of different cities.
