The striking outline of The Bass Rock is a well known feature of the East Lothian coastline. This particular view is taken from Ravensheugh Sands a stunning stretch of beach between North Berwick and Dunbar. Bass Rock sits against the back drop of the Fife coast with The Isle of May just visible in the distance.

I work from sketches that I have made, refining them by focussing on patterns in the landscape. I use a fine line pen to finish my drawings. My sketches often explore the coastal landscape of East Lothian.
