Portobello beach is a few miles outside of Edinburgh. The long promenade features a number of restaurants and cafes along with beach front properties. This view features the distinctive victorian swimming pool. On the right is the back of Arthur's Seat, an ancient volcano that lies in the centre of Edinburgh's Holyrood Park.
I work from sketches that I have made, refining them by focussing on patterns in the landscape. I use a fine line pen to finish my drawings. My sketchbook accompanies me on my travels and I enjoy capturing the architecture and surroundings of different cities.
