Astrantia - Greetings Card

Reproduced from one of my original hand-carved linocut prints, this greetings card features my Astrantia design. Left blank inside, it's suitable for birthdays, thank you notes, or simply keeping in touch.

Astrantias have become an increasingly familiar sight in gardens, their distinctive pincushion-like flower heads floating above a sea of foliage. Looking closely reveals an extraordinary level of structure and detail, which I was keen to capture in this linocut. Limiting the print to two shades of green allows the carved detail to take centre stage while reflecting the plant’s natural colour palette.

The cards are reproduced from a scan of the finished print, preserving the detail and texture of the original artwork.
