How I Design My Cards
“I hand carve all of my Lino plates working from hand-drawn designs inspired by the natural world. I then experiment with a wide palette of colours before settling on the perfect combination for my prints. Then the fun really begins! I apply specialist Schmincke Ink to my Lino plates using a printing roller. This ensures an even application of ink. Opening my Wood Zilla cherry red printing press I position the Lino plate before carefully laying my pre-cut paper on top. I then apply a few layers of padding before securing the press and applying just enough pressure for the ink to transfer to the paper. My favourite part is opening the press and peeling the paper away to reveal the finished print.”
