This cheerful chap is a reduction print. The print is made up of several layers of colour. I carved into the plate between each layer of the print to add more detail.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorking from sketches, I carve my designs into Lino to form a printing plate. Having applied ink to the surface of the plate with a roller I then burnish the plates by hand. Each design is formed from multiple layers. In between each layer I carve into the printing plate.
